Liability for DUI Accidents in Florida
Left-turn accidents involving motorcyclists are often deadly. They can be caused by drunk drivers, distracted drivers, or drivers simply not paying attention. If news reports of this crash are accurate, the driver of the vehicle is likely responsible for this fatal crash. Unfortunately, devastating fatal motorcycle accidents such as this April 24th crash occur far too often. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is against the law in Florida.
When drivers operate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, they may face criminal charges for their actions, as well as face civil liability for driving under the influence. After a fatal accident, criminal charges will punish an at fault driver for their actions, but will not compensate the victim’s family for any of the far-reaching financial effects of their loss, including funeral and burial expenses, lost earnings, and loss of love, care, and companionship.
